Pixelworks ImageProcessor Architecture Powers Affordable, Dual-Interface Dell 17-inch LCD Monitor

Tualatin, Ore., September 21, 2000 —Pixelworks (Nasdaq:PXLW) today announced that its award-winning ImageProcessor Architecture will power Dell's newest flat panel display, the 1701FP. The Dell 1701FP, a dual-interface, SXGA-resolution 17-inch LCD desktop monitor, brings Pixelworks' uncompromising image quality, ease of use and interface flexibility to the Dell family of monitors.

The Pixelworks ImageProcessor Architecture powers the SXGA-resolution (1,280 pixels by 1,024 pixels) Dell 1701FP LCD monitor to offer a crisp image for incoming signals ranging from low resolution VGA (640 pixels by 480 pixels) to the monitor's native high resolution. With automatic image optimization capabilities provided by the ImageProcessor IC, the monitor can be connected to virtually any computer signal and deliver a rock-solid image without any user adjustments. The Dell 1701FP is compatible with today's PCs using analog interfaces and it's digital ready with built-in compatibility with the emerging Digital Visual Interface standard, or DVI. In addition, the Dell1701FP offers a rich feature set including pinpoint zooming that magnifies any part of the screen up to 64 times.

The Dell 1701FP is the first product to display the new "Powered by Pixelworks" logo which appears as the monitor starts up. The "Powered by Pixelworks" logo is designed to help consumers identify which advanced display products feature the superior image quality and unique functions powered by Pixelworks ImageProcessor ICs.

"As the leading supplier of flat panel monitors in the U.S., Dell is working to extend its leadership with the new Dell 1701FP which delivers a big, beautiful image right out of the box," said Allen Alley, CEO, President and Chairman of Pixelworks.
